17 - . Closing the engine

Mounting the rocker shaft . View on YouTube

                                       video.     Ver en YouTub

The engine is still resting on the base of the block . Foul mount the oil pump and close the crankcase.

Ahead is pending mount the water pump and the cooling circuit .

Undesirable effect on the allocation of effort

When mounting the standard rocker , the contact between the rocker and the valve does not occur in the center of the base of the swing, popping an unwanted pair .

A meticulous work of Gonzalo , adding thin steel washers allow a perfect centering, removed unnecessary torsion pairs in the effort rocker who just passed on the bearings and the rocker arm , causing more wear .

Efecto no deseado en el reparto de esfuerzo

Closed the valve cover and painted the engine red.
It was originally painted blue , as was the body of the Triumph .
Now that the car is green , I decided to paint the engine red in memory of my old Amazon , and remember those who knew me with my Volvo 122S Amazón .

In the front picture the new water pump assembly is appreciated.
The left side with the new oil filter and fuel pump .

Right , ready to mount the exhaust manifold and intake manifold with Webber carburetors.
On the left side of the tap step of heating is observed. Is mounted faucet original Triumph , as the old engine had adapted one of SEAT .

Back view without the disc without press clutch , even you can see the rear crankshaft seal .

With the clutch and the engine assembled and ready to be installed in the chassis.

The engine has been greatly improved compared to how it left the factory over 50 years ago :
  • Bring reinforced aluminum cylinder head with valves for unleaded
  • Has improved lubrication and cooling of the top with the by-pass
  • A detent in the rear of the crankshaft to prevent oil leaks
  • Carry a clutch diaphragm much better than the original 3 support
  • Carter finned aluminum bottom provides better cooling .

it  is ready to be installed in the car ... morning May 16 is the day D
